Artist Spotlight May 5th

Join us for our First Satudays Artist Spotlight at The Gallery @ The Glass Source. Ali McFadzen takes beautiful photos of mushrooms and fungi. The opening reception is May 5th from 5:00-8:00pm.

Here is a little bit about her work:

"I am a devotee to nature and all the beauty and sovereignty it beholds. You will often find me out at sunrise as I cherish the quiet, peacefulness of the very early morning. The ability to observe and capture the dawn of a new day is a truly humbling and spiritual experience and I attempt to integrate this consciousness into all elements of my photography.
The most extensive and misunderstood facet of nature; I find fungus absolutely compelling. As Mother Nature's filter and recycler, it can both supply nutrients to earth and remove pollutants from our air. You will very often find me close to ground searching for, studying, and photographing all types of fungus to build the portfolio of my Fungus Project. This project, while still a work in progress, aims to bring awareness of the integral function of fungus in our environment and the importance of recycling in our everyday lives."

We will be offering refreshments and an opportunity to meet the artist and see her photographs among the work at The Glass Source. We hope to see you there!
